End User License Agreement

This EULA is between you and Sarbaz Jan, trading as Caption Plug ("we", "us"), and governs each Caption Plug or Motion Plug software product you purchase (the "Software"). Each product is licensed separately. By installing or using a product, you accept this agreement for that product.

1. What you get

  • A perpetual, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the purchased Software for any purpose, commercial work included.
  • Activation on up to 3 machines you personally own or control. You can free a slot from your account page when you change computers.
  • The update series stated on that product's purchase page, delivered through your account.
  • Caption Plug's 62 bundled fonts remain under their own open-source licenses (SIL OFL / Apache; the license texts ship with Caption Plug). Content you make with either product is 100% yours.

2. What you may not do

  • Share, publish, sell, rent, or sublicense your account, your download, or the Software itself - including "group buys" and resale marketplaces.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the Software, or circumvent its license activation, except where law expressly permits.
  • Use one license across a team - each editor needs their own.
  • Use the Software to break the law. (Obviously.)

3. License enforcement (the anti-piracy part)

Software licenses and private downloads are tied to the purchasing account. Where a build uses device activation, it sends the account sign-in and an anonymous machine fingerprint to our servers and may re-validate periodically. Licenses found shared publicly, resold, or used far beyond the activation limit can be revoked. If your account is compromised through no fault of your own, email us - we'll secure it, not punish you.

4. Third-party services

Caption Plug includes local Whisper transcription with no per-use fee. If you choose its optional OpenAI or Groq integration, you use your own API key under that provider's terms and any resulting costs are yours. Both products require Adobe Premiere Pro, which is licensed separately by Adobe. We are not affiliated with Adobe Inc. or CapCut.

5. Warranty and liability

The Software is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, warranties are disclaimed and our total liability is limited to the purchase price. Caption Plug transcription accuracy depends on the model and source audio; its auto-censor is a best-effort filter against curated word lists and we don't guarantee it catches everything a platform might object to. Motion Plug callouts are placed manually and do not track footage automatically. Statutory rights remain unaffected. Refunds: Refund Policy.

6. Termination

The license ends automatically if you materially breach it (notably section 2). On termination you must delete the Software. Sections 4-5 survive.

7. Governing law

Same as the Terms of Service: the laws of England and Wales.
