These previews run the production caption renderer in the browser. They are not translated mock-ups. Check connected letterforms, right-to-left order, word activation, and the position of Latin text and numbers.

Punctuation and encoding

  • Test Arabic commas and question marks with mixed Latin names.
  • Check whether numbers should remain Western, use Arabic-Indic forms, or be written as words.

Line breaks and word timing

  • Do not break attached conjunctions and prepositions away from their words.
  • Validate bidirectional ordering in Premiere and in the final encoded video.

What this test does not prove

  • The benchmark used Egyptian Arabic FLEURS speech.
  • Modern Standard Arabic and regional dialects can differ substantially; this is not a blanket dialect claim.
  • Three clean benchmark clips do not cover noisy rooms, overlapping speakers, every microphone, or every market.
  • For this script, Caption Plug does not claim that every bundled display font is suitable. Install and license a compatible font, then validate the final render.

Can Caption Plug auto-caption Arabic in Premiere Pro?

Yes. Select Arabic as the spoken language, transcribe with the bundled local Whisper Base multilingual model, correct the transcript, then generate animated clips, a native editable caption track, or UTF-8 SRT.

Does Caption Plug support right-to-left Arabic captions?

The render engine can display right-to-left Arabic text, but final shaping and bidirectional order still depend on the selected Arabic-capable font and the Premiere output path. Check every final render, especially lines mixing Arabic, Latin names, and numbers.

Which fonts work for Arabic captions?

Use an Arabic-capable font such as Noto Sans Arabic, Geeza Pro on macOS, or Arial where its Arabic glyphs are available. Caption Plug does not claim that every bundled display font contains complete Arabic glyph coverage.

Which Arabic dialect was tested?

The published smoke test used three held-out Egyptian Arabic FLEURS clips. It does not establish the same accuracy for Modern Standard Arabic, Gulf, Levantine, Maghrebi, or other regional speech.

How should Arabic punctuation and line breaks be reviewed?

Keep attached conjunctions and prepositions with their words, check Arabic commas and question marks, and visually inspect mixed numbers or Latin names. Export SRT as UTF-8 and verify it in the destination player.
