Arabic captions in Adobe Premiere Pro

Caption Plug v1.1.3 transcribed three held-out العربية speech clips locally, then exposed the transcript for correction before animated clips, editable Premiere captions, or SRT export.

Line breaks are normalized for display. Compare wording character by character; punctuation and casing are included in the visible evidence.

Punctuation and encoding

  • Test Arabic commas and question marks with mixed Latin names.
  • Check whether numbers should remain Western, use Arabic-Indic forms, or be written as words.

Line breaks and word timing

  • Do not break attached conjunctions and prepositions away from their words.
  • Validate bidirectional ordering in Premiere and in the final encoded video.

Names and specialist vocabulary

  • Foreign names can be split or replaced phonetically.
  • Country and city names should be checked against the intended regional spelling.

What this test does not prove

  • The benchmark used Egyptian Arabic FLEURS speech.
  • Modern Standard Arabic and regional dialects can differ substantially; this is not a blanket dialect claim.
  • Three clean benchmark clips do not cover noisy rooms, overlapping speakers, every microphone, or every market.
  • For this script, Caption Plug does not claim that every bundled display font is suitable. Install and license a compatible font, then validate the final render.
