Rendered Animated Captions in Adobe Premiere Pro
Caption Plug renders each animated caption at the Premiere sequence's actual resolution and frame rate, then places transparent media on a dedicated video track.

An animation preview is useful only when the timeline result matches
Template-heavy workflows can change timing with host performance, keyframe interpolation, font substitution, or MOGRT state. The editor may approve one motion in a panel and receive a subtly different result after rendering.
Caption Plug samples its caption engine at every sequence-frame time and writes deterministic transparent frames. The live preview and Premiere output share that engine, while the generated media becomes ordinary project footage that Premiere can cache, trim, move, and export.
From sequence audio to finished captions
- 01
Read sequence settings
Caption Plug uses the active sequence width, height, pixel aspect, and frame rate instead of assuming a social-video preset.
- 02
Build caption time ranges
Corrected word timestamps become caption groups with exact active-word intervals.
- 03
Sample every frame
The selected motion system draws each transparent output frame at its exact timeline time.
- 04
Import beside the project
Premiere imports the generated media and places it on a fresh video track while the source files remain next to the project for relinking.
Transparent media that behaves like timeline footage
Rendered captions preserve motion precisely and avoid MOGRT evaluation during playback. The project stores links to the generated Caption Plug Media, so archiving must include that folder just like any other source footage.
- Adobe Premiere Pro 2020 (v14) or newer
- Sequence-native horizontal, square, and vertical output
- Sequence frame rates rather than a fixed 30 fps assumption
- Transparent rendered media on Windows and macOS
- Rendered caption text is not directly editable in Premiere; correct the transcript and regenerate it.
- Higher resolutions, frame rates, and longer caption runs create more project media and take longer to render.
- Moving or sharing the project without its Caption Plug Media folder can require relinking.
