How to Make Apple-Style Infographics for Product Videos

By Miro, Caption Plug community manager · Published September 14, 2026 · 9 min read

A good product infographic makes a claim easier to verify, not merely more dramatic. Apple-style is useful shorthand for the presentation: one clear value, strong hierarchy, controlled color, and motion that reveals the relationship. The number, unit, comparison, and source still have to be honest.

Motion Plug in Premiere Pro, including specification, feature, and comparison treatments built for product stories.

Start with the claim sheet

Before opening Premiere, put every proposed number in a small review sheet. For each claim record the exact value, unit, baseline, source, date, territory, and any qualifier. “2× faster” is incomplete until you know faster than what, measured doing which task, on which version, and under what conditions.

Marketing can still be concise. The frame might show “2× faster,” while a readable source line or linked landing page carries the method. The discipline is keeping the short statement consistent with the evidence.

Choose the graphic that matches the relationship

  • One specification: use a large number, unit, and short label.
  • Two values: use proportional bars or a clean split comparison.
  • A sequence of benefits: reveal a feature stack one line at a time.
  • Several equal features: use a bento or editorial summary, but keep each tile brief.
  • A physical detail: use a callout with a precise manual anchor.
  • A price or launch date: give it its own frame instead of hiding it under a feature list.

Do not use a chart because it looks analytical. If the relationship can be understood faster as a number and a sentence, use the number and sentence.

Design the final frame first

The viewer should understand the static end state before animation helps. Put the claim in the largest type. Keep the unit visually attached to the value. Add the comparison label close enough that it cannot be mistaken for another number. Use one accent for the important state and neutral tones for context.

For bars, map length to value from the same zero baseline unless the design clearly says otherwise. For percentage changes, distinguish “20% higher” from “20 percentage points higher.” For rounded values, use an approximation mark or plain-language qualifier when precision would mislead.

Animate the reading order

  1. Introduce the subject or metric name.
  2. Reveal the main value.
  3. Bring in the unit and qualifier.
  4. Resolve the comparison or supporting label.
  5. Hold long enough to read the complete statement.

This sequence gives motion a job. If all elements fade up together, animation adds decoration but no explanation. If pieces keep moving after the relationship is clear, the graphic becomes harder to inspect.

readability check

Say itRead the full value, unit, and label aloud.
Time itAdd a short hold after the spoken read finishes.
Shrink itCheck the frame at the smallest real delivery size.

Build it manually in Premiere Pro

For a one-off metric, create text and shape layers, align the final composition, then animate opacity, position, scale, or a mask in Effect Controls. Use a consistent entrance duration and easing curve across related graphics. Duplicate the finished graphic only when the new value has the same number of digits and the same visual balance. A change from “8” to “12,750” needs a real layout check.

Data-driven MOGRTs are another route when a campaign has many rows of structured data. Adobe's current data-driven Motion Graphics template guide explains how text, color, and number fields can be mapped from spreadsheet data. That workflow is strong for recurring charts, but it requires a template authored for the data shape.

Use Motion Plug for repeatable product graphics

Motion Plug's Metric Lockup and Precision Count presets handle single specifications. Measured Bars and Split Measure cover two-value comparisons. Progressive Stack and Active Line build feature sequences. Balanced Mosaic and Editorial Grid summarize multiple benefits. Precision Pin and Offset Orbit annotate a product detail.

The values, labels, font, colors, layout, timing, and motion remain editable before insertion. Motion Plug then creates transparent timeline media at the current sequence dimensions and frame rate. This is useful for marketers who work in Premiere and want consistent motion without maintaining an After Effects template project.

Keep the source connected to the exported video

Give the source note enough contrast and screen time to be useful. For fast social placements, put the full method on the linked page and keep a short source label in the video. Archive the claim sheet with the Premiere project so a later editor knows what can be updated and what must be reapproved.

Prices, performance numbers, and availability dates expire. Add a review date to the project notes, and do not reuse an old export simply because the motion still looks current.

Final infographic checklist

  • The value, unit, baseline, and qualifier agree with the source.
  • The static final frame is understandable without motion.
  • The animation reveals information in reading order.
  • Bar lengths and visual areas represent values honestly.
  • Text survives phone size, compression, and bright footage.
  • The source or method is available where the audience can inspect it.

Quick answers

What is an Apple-style infographic?

It is a restrained product graphic with one clear number or comparison, strong type, controlled color, and motion that explains the information. The label describes a visual approach, not an official Apple format.

How long should an infographic stay on screen?

Long enough to read the label, value, and unit once without rushing. Read the graphic aloud at a normal pace, then add a short hold. Dense graphics should be split into a sequence rather than held longer as one crowded frame.

Can Motion Plug make product comparison graphics?

Yes. Motion Plug includes specification, comparison, feature-stack, bento-summary, callout, and price-reveal families. The values and labels are editable before the transparent graphic is added to Premiere.
